Sony Introduces New Rewards Credit Card

Sony has introduced a new PlayStation rewards credit card through Capitol One, that's perfect for me any PS fanboy. Basically, you spend money, and it earns you points towards things like PlayStation Network cards, PS3 games, even hardware.

For every dollar you spend, you earn one point. But if you buy Sony products if will count for more points, such as:

  • 10x points on PSN purchases (including movies and rentals)
  • 3x points on PlayStation and Sony purchases at Sony stores and Sony.com
  • 3x points at quick service restaurants, movie theaters, and mobile phone bills
  • 1x points on all other purchases

You'll also get a $50 PSN card after making your first purchase using the card. If you sign up now, you get 0% APR until September 2012, but after that you have to deal with a variable APR between 13.9% and 24.9%.

With those high APRs, we don't suggest you use this card as your main card. But if you can get it, use it for PlayStation related purchase only, then pay off the bill every month, you'll end up earning a ton of free stuff that you were probably going to spend money on anyway.
